This is Targeted Marketing?

Dear Amazon.ca Customer,

We've noticed that customers who have expressed interest in Becoming Vajrasattva, 2nd Edition : The Tantric Path of Purification by Lama Yeshe have also ordered Holy Image, Hallowed Ground by Robert S. Nelson. For this reason, you might like to know that Robert S. Nelson's Holy Image, Hallowed Ground is now available in Hardcover. You can order your copy by following the link below.

Holy Image, Hallowed Ground Robert S. Nelson
Price: CDN$ 131.50

Give me a break! This is an email I got from Amazon.ca, cuz I let them. I like to receive emails from some companies, cuz then I know I'll get mail. But why they would think I'd be interested in Byzantine icons just because I bought a Buddhist book about Vajrasattva...?! That's a stretch. I bet that line about others buying it is...well, let's say...hmmm...not entirely truthful.

Of course I
am interested. All that sort of stuff interests me. But certainly not because of the Vajrasattva connection.

Anyway, the price is a little steep to have such a morose-looking cover on my coffee table.

Yeah, I had a direct email from Staples yesterday that said it was giving me "specials" based on my recent purchasing record. Okay, the specials? Four items EXACTLY the same as the items I had just bought! Why would I need another telephone when I had just bought one? LOL!

Maybe they forgot that Christmas has passed. Maybe they wanted you to give copies to your best four friends, X.

Maybe Larry, they knew somehow that w.t. is interested in icons, also Byzantyne ones. But w.t is banned from your blog. So they could not reach her so they targetted you.

Funny conclusion that a Buddhist would want Christian art. Maybe publishers only know how to publish. No clue about what they publish. No clue about a Buddhist's choice of limited recources, not having American green stuff lying around, nor different colours Canadian stuff to purchase luxury, especially not morose looking luxury. Maybe in Larry's Bhuddhist cell there is not even a coffee table to put it on? Or should not be?

Wild Thing with an evil grin on her face.

Help! I've written and I can't get up!
